„Art is what art wants to be “

The Schuster collection is a gathered collection from the Schuster siblings, including art works of modern and contemporary art.

The collection includes 50 paintings from Burkhard Driest from his creative period between 1984 and 1988, in which an insight wants to be given.

“It would be a shame, if art and artists would not be relevant after their death”, Natalia Kolodzei said, one of the most important art collectors worldwide.

Therefore, the family Schuster wants to carry the art of Burkhard Driest into the world and make it accessible to the wide public.

Information for Gallerists and Collectors

Burkhard Driest was a well distinguished contemporary in the feuilletons from big German daily and weekly newspapers, as well as in the tabloid press. Though, barely anyone knew him as painter. When it came to his art, Burkhard Driest exercised great restraint towards any form of publicity. Beginning from his 18th age on, when he started painting, until his death in 2020, he only showed a few times parts of his art. The artist Jill Mercedes (1986) and the famous theater director Peter Zadek (1987) were the first ones to persuade him to do so.

So, it applies to discover a great artist, whose extensive artistic work the most sustainable and valuable good is, he has left the world.
The Schuster Collection includes fifty works, which Burkhard Driest painted between 1984 and 1988.
